Daily Eye Candy

Just popping in for a bit of delicious eye candy. My blog posting will probably continue to be light as I dig myself out from under a massive amount of work that has blindsided me. Yuck.

These lotus hoops make me feel better though. Aren't they gorgeous? Melissa Odabash, $45.

Daily Eye Candy

I cannot believe how quickly spring has sprung. See my mind? It's boggled.

Yesterday, YESTERDAY the tulips were just starting to plume their slender leaves, and today I walk by and they've got full on buds, ready to burst.

I've got a fancy new macro lens, and I need to get to stepping with it before I miss everything! Expect pictures.

In spite of the fact that I am dressed today head-to-toe in black and gray, my eyes are seeking out bright, beautiful colors of late. That's probably why I'm so drawn to this Japanese porcelain tea set from Yedi, $49.99. Can I get an amen?

Daily Eye Candy

For my birthday, my in-laws gave me an awesome, steam-punk-y clock, which we finally hung this weekend (by "we," I of course mean everyone in my family except for me). I've been looking for something perfect to fill up this space ever since we moved in, and now I am that much closer to dying happily. Gorgeous!

If you love it as much as I do, you can have one for yourself from Overstock.com!

Daily Eye Candy

Open your eyes, because today's Candy is fabulous!

A very dear, lovely friend made Husband and me a gorgeous wreath, which I hung next to our front door. She made this because I demanded it of her, since I lack the talent to create such a wonderful piece! And I was going to pay her! I really wanted to! But she refused to take anything for it, and it made me love her even more, for her kindness and her talent.

I think that she should sell these, and all of you should buy them. If she decides to do so, I will let you know where you can purchase one from her! She's amazing!

This is my Favorite. New. Thing!

Daily Eye Candy

When I was in the fifth grade, I had my first "boyfriend"...I'll call him "Jimmy." "Boyfriend" in quotation marks is absolutely applicable to our relationship -- when I heard from my tittering friends that he wanted to hold my hand in the darkness of our school's blow-up planetarium, I became concerned because I thought we were moving tooooo fast (aw, the innocent decade). When Valentine's Day rolled around, "Jimmy" was so proud of his gift -- he told me that his sister had helped him pick it out. It was a set of silver post earrings in a "love knot" formation. I still have them to this day. But, like most pre-junior high flings, "Jimmy" and my relationship burned bright and fast, and "we" were over before the next school year began. Ah, the fickleness of the young.

That engaging glimpse into my early love life brings me to today's Daily Eye Candy. The price is a departure from my "Sweet and Cheap" series, but it was too adorable not to share.

From Shabby Apple, I completely love this Love Knot Necklace, handcrafted in 14K gold, $87.50. Wouldn't this make a perfect Valentine's Day gift? Too bad Husband and I don't celebrate that holiday...if only "Jimmy" were still around...

Daily Eye Candy: Sweet and Cheap

I think I will keep posting some Sweet and Cheap items when I come across them, though back to my sporadic blogging schedule as things heat up for me at work!

Today I found a wonderful site called PaperPunk - and these items would be perfect for a dexterous kid or even a husband!

Daily Eye Candy: Sweet and Cheap

Yesterday I was out of commission, sweating and swearing while moving heavy belongings about (not my own, it should be noted, altruistically). Since I missed a Thursday post, today I will give you a Sweet and Cheap double header, from Dimmalimm and Laserist - they both have wonderful offerings.

I love these unique "stay on" coasters from the first shop mentioned.

From Laserist, I adore these interesting wooden puzzle models. You assemble these yourself, but that's half the fun!

Bucket Loader, $19.95.

Revolver, $19.95 (I can really get behind a toy gun that looks obviously fake - I don't care for the realistic ones).

Daily Eye Candy: Sweet and Cheap

I am in love with these unique and inexpensive stencils from Stencil1. Cheaper than wallpaper, you can create interesting patterns, or just stencil one to your wall for a focal point - wonderful!

Birds on Wires, $12.99. I would love this for my own bedroom!
Moroccan Petal, $12.99. This would be wonderful in a bright kitchen or breakfast nook!
Typewriter, $10.99. Can you imagine this one adorning the walls of an office? Too cute!

Daily Eye Candy: Sweet and Cheap

I so enjoyed the Sweet and Cheap challenge last week, that I've decided to extend it another week.

I adore the Tiny Confessions shop on Etsy. The designs are kitschy and hilarious -- and cheap!

Daily Eye Candy: Sweet and Cheap

Today's Sweet and Cheap comes from Built NY, my favorite go-to place for lunchboxes, at the very least. They have many other wonderful items as well, all of them with great, bright patterns, including:

Today is Day Two of the Sweet and Cheap challenge. Today, I bring you offerings from Pink Tank Ltd., a site with wonderful bookmarks, for those of us who are still in the Kindle-less Dark Ages.

Daily Eye Candy: A Challenge!

I have been challenged by a certain someone to post a week's worth of Daily Eye Candy, with each offering under $20. My recent posts have been a bit pricey and unrealistic (ooo, the Balenciaga!), and I always appreciate a bargain.

SO, I ACCEPT.

I will start off the week properly with not one, not two, but three Sweet and Cheap offerings.

These hail from Rifle Paper Co., and they are all delicate, appear hand-painted, and are darling as can be!

Dachshund Cards, $4 (single card) to $16 (boxed set of 8).

Daily Eye Candy

I adore this Rose Pear Ring from Lorak. I love that the metal isn't buffed and glossy, and that the stones appear somewhat roughly placed. It's a beautiful departure for my obsessive-compulsive soul.
And it's only $1,050. What a bargain!

Today I'm loving this feather necklace from janiecox on Etsy. And it's only $19! Beautiful.
Her shop has a number of really cute items. I don't even know if I could call this one my favorite! Check it out today!
