Obsession

I've discovered a Web site that is exceptionally dangerous for my productivity levels. It appeals to my favorite genre of literature: Feature Stories. I am in love with extended journalism, articles that are long and lean but peppered with insight. These articles take the reader on a journey, sometimes torturous, sometimes hilarious, always inspiring contemplation. They are pieces that particularly inspire envy for me; how I wish I could write such articles.

The site, which is extremely simple, almost utilitarian, is Longform.org. Every day several new feature stories are posted. Some do not interest me, but the majority tempt me away from my own personal endeavors. Each article title is followed by a brief description, and they do not disappoint.
